Best of luck to all the 3rd years at Onoda Technical High School who are leaving soon. You've been great fun and have made me laugh a lot. I will miss you.

Hitting the Slopes near Hiroshima めがひら スキー

After a 6.30am start we arrived at Megahira ski resort near Hiroshima at about 9.30am. The skiing was awesome and Miyake Sensei and his family made me really welcome. The star of the day was Ya chan (Miyake Sensei's 5 year old son) who is the bravest 5 year old I have ever met. Bearing in mind it was my second time skiing and the last time was about 7 years ago... I was a little nervous but Miyake Sensei's eldest son Mo kun (11 years old) a good skier kindly showed me the ropes and took me to the highest peak where I promptly bombed down at break neck speed without being able to apply the brakes! To avoid breaking limbs I bowled over. By the end of the day I managed to master stopping.... although not instantly!

Ya chan is fearless... the mountain was pretty steep and difficult, but he didnt bat an eyelid at being gently pushed down from the highest run. It was Ya chan at the end of the day who was up for one last run before going home despite the fact he was tired and half asleep!

Great day followed by a meal and onsen hot springs.

Thank you Miyake Sensei and family... I want to again now!
